Subject: Prezi : Telling a story!

Hi {Name},
As you play with Prezi do you feel like a movie
director?

Movie directors are the people with all the tools
at their disposal and the good ones choose only
the tools that will tell the story the best.

You don't always need or want the snazziest, most
expensive tool in the box.

Consider the movie StarWars.

One of the most memorable scenes was one of the
simplest to create.

Of course, I'm talking about the opening.

A long time ago in a Galaxy far, far away...

That was just simple white text scrolling across
a black and white star-scape background yet
it has burned itself into your mind and set the
mood for one of the most successful movie
franchises of all time!

What is most amazing about Lucas's choice
was that he had so many other cinematic tricks
to choose from.

He could have began the movie with some amazing
wild 3D ride through a worm-hole taking us back through
time and over great distances in space and landing us
in an awesome spaceship at the door of the scene where
the main characters start their opening dialog.

But he didn't, and only a fool would argue with his
choice.

So, as the "Director" of your first Prezi, your first
choice will be which Template Metaphor you want
to hang the rest of your story.

Prezi provides you with lot's of templates to choose from.

Don't just go with the most visually appealing, find the
template that helps you tell your story.

If your story is overcoming adversity perhaps, a mountain
climbing template will be best.

If your story is about personal growth then perhaps the tree
template is a better choice.

Once, you choose a template let it help guide you by finding
and creating complementary metaphors to keep your audience
spellbound.

IE a set-back in overcoming adversity could be an avalanche while
personal growth stories may be peppered with rainy days, or storms
that prune away dead wood.

You, as the director have many tools at your
disposal, like Lucas you may find that
the simplest tools help you set the stage
better than anything else.

Until Next Time,
{YOUR NAME}

PS- In this medium it takes a lot of pictures
to tell a good story and emphasize points
quickly and succinctly.

Thankfully, if you want to sell something online
there is a one stop shop to get almost all the images
you'll ever need.
