Subject: Selling With Periscope

Up until now, we?ve mostly talked about how to use Periscope, how to get followers, and ideas for creating broadcasts. But now it?s time to go into how to make the platform work for your business, and how to get the most out of it.

The first thing you should realize is that Periscope is not really a platform for direct sales, although it can be. It?s much better to use the platform to gain subscribers to your email list, and then you can sell to them once they?re on your list.

There are a few ways to make it easier to sell on Periscope, though. We?re going to take a look at a few of those now.

First, you can use Periscope as a way to debut product ideas or new products before they are officially released. This accomplishes two things:

1. It helps you establish demand. If the reception is lukewarm, you can potentially halt the product development process before it costs a lot of time and money to develop.

2. It makes people feel they?re getting ?inside information? that no one else is yet privy to.

If you get a stellar reception, you can later use the platform to officially launch the product, which will yield far better results than if you simply try to market the product once it has been released.

Periscope also gives you the unique opportunity to actually demonstrate your product LIVE, allowing users to see first hand how well the product works without feeling like its results have been altered. How many times have you seen a commercial and thought, ?I wonder if it really works that well.?

It?s very common for people to be reluctant about buying products because they just aren?t sure they can trust the marketing. But when you demonstrate the use of your product in a live format, you can?t edit, you can?t Photoshop. They see real, live, honest results.

One thing to keep in mind is that you never want to try to do a hard sell on Periscope. Users aren?t there to be sold to. They?re there to be informed and entertained. If you try to sell too hard, they will unfollow you and you?ll never get a sale.

Instead, focus on presenting quality information in an entertaining format. Sales will come naturally as long as you do this.

Well, that wraps up our series on Periscope. I hope you?ve enjoyed reading this series as much as I enjoyed creating it for you, and I hope you?ve learned enough to get in on the ground floor of this amazing new promotional opportunity.

Questions? Comments? Let me know! I?ll be glad to help you out if I can.

Good luck!
