Subject: Winning Scope Ideas

Analysis paralysis is a term coined to refer to the failure to get something accomplished because you spend too much time focusing on getting everything perfect that you never take any action. This is probably one reason why only a reported 2% of Periscope users actually ever broadcast a scope of their own?preferring to just watch other people?s scopes.

But you can?t let that stop you. Broadcasting anything at all, as long as it?s not offensive or completely boring, is better than never broadcasting at all.

Of course, it can be difficult to figure out exactly what to broadcast about, so I?ve created a list of ideas for things you can broadcast about. I?ve tried to keep this as useful as possible for people in all niches.

1. Product Demonstrations. Demonstrate the use of a product you?re trying to sell live.

2. Interviews. Interviews with industry experts or your customers are interesting, informative, and helpful for selling products.

3. Breaking News. Sharing breaking news, especially if you are in the vicinity and can show live video, and especially if it?s in your industry, is a fantastic was to attract more followers.

4. Behind the Scenes. Anytime you can go behind the scenes at an industry event, you should do it! This is exactly the kind of thing that draws attention.

5. Discounts and Special Offers. People LOVE coupons, discounts, special offers, etc. And they REALLY love those things if they are ?super secret? and not many people know about them. Offering them live is a great way to make people feel the offer is more limited, because only a limited number of people will see the deal.

6. Question and Answer. Question and answer sessions are perfect for live situations, especially if they?re really helpful for viewers.

7. Contests and Giveaways. Why not hold a live contest or giveaway? Prizes can be awarded during the initial broadcast to attendees, or they can be chosen in a separate broadcast at a later date.

8. Tutorials. Tutorials are always a popular video type, and live tutorials are even more interesting because they give people the opportunity to ask questions during the presentation.

9. Early Access Previews. If you?re launching a product, you could offer early access to people who join you live. This is a good way to build hype and get people to follow you, because they won?t want to miss this type of thing in the future.

10. Live Quizzes. Like contests, you can do live quiz sessions and award prizes during or after the broadcast.

These are just a few ideas to jog your creativity. Just remember that broadcasts should be mostly candid, but with a brief script just so you know what you want to cover before you get started.

In our next lesson, we?re going to look at some of the best ways you can really make Periscope profitable for you, so watch for it in your inbox!
