Subject: The Wisdom of A Genie

Hi {Name},

Today, I want to talk to you about
"Transitions".

You need to consider your "transitions" very
carefully whenever you are trying to make
a sale or trying to convince someone to sign
up to your list.

Without a smooth transition, you are likely to
put your potential customer in shock, and a
potential customer put into shock, unfortunately
is no longer your potential customer.

For example, you probably know that abrupt
transitions, are the prime reason for the failure
in most failed Facebook ad campaigns.

You simply can't take someone who is laughing
at the cat playing piano video, one minute, and get
them to seriously consider buying an eBook that will
alter the course of their life forever.

Asking a potential customer to switch gears that
quickly is akin to yanking a fish out of water, and
expecting them to learn how to breathe air.

The same is true when you're using the "Free Stuff"
technique that is mentioned in the List Genie Report.

Everybody loves taking complementary stuff but
transitioning into asking for his or her email must be
done carefully.

If all you do is give out water bottles at an event
and ask people to sign up to your list by putting
a URL on the label you are likely to get about
zero results.

This is because they are at an event, having fun,
and thinking about being thirsty - and that is
about it!

Your water bottle will likely be in the bottom of
the trash and no one will give your URL a second
thought because they will be too busy getting back
into party mode!

Do you see?

Failure is eminent due to the fact that the water
bottle scheme has no transition.

However, if instead the link on the water bottles
promised the visitor additional instant gratification
related to the festivities, they'd likely whip out their
phones, then and there, to check the link out
right away!

YouTube does a good job of providing instant
gratification.

How about we try imagining that the event you are
giving away water bottles at, is a concert starring a
famous personality.

To create a smooth transition...

Your water bottles now say "Check out this video to
discover the 5 shocking things about "blank"
that she doesn't want you to know!

Now you can imagine, lots of people at the event
whipping out their phones to check out your link!

=======================
How does that get you subscribers?
=======================

Here is where the magic comes in...

Now imagine that while they are watching the video 5
shocking things etc. etc...

When they get to #3 shocking thing, all of a sudden
they are asked to submit their email address and name
before they can continue!

They are so wrapped up in the video they can't wait
to see the conclusion, so they quickly type in their info,
so they can finish the video to discover ALL 5 shocking
things!

That is exactly the kind of subscription campaign that
you can run with the online web app...

transition works, in a festival environment, I
bet you can just imagine how much better it
could work if you offered someone a shocking
